Stepping into therapy is a brave enough step without having to wonder about all the details. Here, you’ll find a brief overview of what to expect for our work together.

I currently see clients via teletherapy only.

Psychotherapy for Adult Individuals

• 50-minute sessions; generally weekly

Because the work we do is relational, and it takes space and time to build safety and trust within relationship, I ask new clients to commit to weekly sessions for the first 8-12 weeks of therapy. From there, we will collaborate to set the pace of our work, either weekly or biweekly sessions.

Gender Affirmation Care Letters

  • 1-2 sessions for assessment and letter to support access to certain gender affirmation care needs, such as surgery

I work with people around their experiences with:

  • Anxiety

  • Attachment issues

  • Chronic illness

  • Depression

  • Gender identity and sexuality

  • Grief and loss

  • Medical trauma

  • Racial identity formation

  • Religious trauma

  • Other forms of acute and systemic trauma

About Therapy

Therapy makes space for the shifts in feeling, thinking, and being in relationship that allow for growth over time. Some sessions may leave you feeling lighter; other sessions, you may feel tired from the good, hard work of naming and exploring experiences of harm and shame. My work is to ensure you have the safety and support you need to take your own next-steps in this wholehearted journey of becoming. I may occasionally recommend additional readings or resources for you to engage between sessions, or somatic exercises to support your growth alongside our work together.

How long we work together will vary given your particular desires and needs. Therapy can be one of many tools one uses to address specific experiences of loss, trauma, identity exploration. Therapy can also facilitate longer-term growth around life stages, mental and emotional well-being, relational dynamics, and ongoing experiences of oppression or chronic illness. We’ll discuss this at your first session, and we’ll re-evaluate your desires and needs together over time.

Fees:

Individual Psychotherapy: $150/session

Note: If you would like to work with me and this rate is a financial barrier,  please reach out for a free 20-minute consultation to discuss your circumstances. I strive to maintain a number of spots at an affordable rate. Priority is given to QTBIPOC individuals.

Gender Affirmation Care: Pay What You Can (suggested donation $50-100)

I am not in network with any insurance providers; however, I am able to provide you with a superbill to send to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.

Payment:

Payment is due at time of service.
I accept debit/credit and FSA/HSA cards through IvyPay, a HIPAA-secure payment app.
Note: Cancellations with less than 48hrs notice incur a 50% session rate fee; no shows incur the full session fee.

What about Insurance?

For a variety of reasons, I do not accept insurance. That said, many insurers will allow you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that if you plan to seek reimbursement, your insurance provider will require that I submit a mental health diagnosis. I will speak to you and provide psychoeducation around the implications of this to empower you to make a fully informed decision about insurance reimbursement. You are responsible for all interaction(s) with your insurance company. Questions you may want to ask your insurer:
  • Does my policy offer out-of-network (ONN) reimbursement benefits?
  • What is the reimbursement rate for mental health services?
  • Does my policy require a preauthorization for me to pursue and be reimbursed for mental health services?
  • How many outpatient mental health sessions will it cover per year?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
